  Actually, the current bunch ( I think they're basically the same as when I was elder) are pretty nice guys. I think they genuinely care, and they don't look for trouble. Perhaps their biggest fault was being too "meek" or pushovers. You get a pig-headed PO in there and they all bow to his wishes.

  Actually, the only one I'm not crazy about is the PO, who is a company man in the sense that he does like to manage and enforce rules. There is not a spiritual bone in his body, he just likes managing/organizing people.

  Well, that was probably not a docket entry the WTS team was happy to see. The media triggered the intense scrutiny against the RCC probably more than the financial impact of the lawsuits. The Boston Globe reporting really set the whole thing off.

  This is what I was thinking myself. As great as lawsuits are, it seems the media really helps it achieve critical mass.

  I would think the media would love a "new" catholic church. . . . It's about time.

  Are you an "out of the closet" atheist?

  i'm atheist and not ashamed of it.

  however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.

  i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?

  REBEL8 - maybe I'm wrong, but I thought you lived in NYC --- a place I would hardly consider atheist "unfriendly." I suppose there could be some neighborhoods with pockets of anti atheist sentiment. . . . Please set me straight if I'm wrong!

  That is pretty amazing. It must mean that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true religion.

  What's kind of funny is how basically the witnesses contribution to bloodless surgery is that they make the perfect guinea pigs.

  What they fail to mention is that the actual doctors and scientists who came up with bloodless procedures are members of false religion: Jews, Muslims, and "so-called Christians". . . .

  I'm sure some of those docs are awful, terrible atheists as well!
